Colin Powell advances my faith in humanity

Like Barack Obama, Colin Powell seems to be a person of conscience and integrity.

We decided to be late to Sunday School last week, even though we are the teachers (!), so we could hear General Powell on Meet the Press. This was one of those historic moments that we just had to experience in "real time."

It had to be a very difficult thing for Powell to cross party lines and endorse Barack Obama, but he did what he knew was the right thing to do, and his explanation for WHY he supports Senator Obama should have made it crystal clear to everyone why Obama is the superior candidate. General Powell said things that we have been waiting many months to hear expressed so eloquently and cripsly--and probably no one else could have said these things in a way that so many non-Obama-maniacs could have really heard...about Barack's ability to lead, about the fact that, even if he WERE a Muslim, what's so bad about that? A Muslim American child should be able to aspire to being President of the United States, too! The confluence of Barack Obama's leadership and current events just make me and others convinced that some kind of divine intervention is going on here. We need to save ourselves from ourselves, and I think we are doing so!
