A word about Dutch...

Any account of our foray into politics would be incomplete without mentioning Dutch Newman. Dutch is "an institution" in Jackson County politics, in the best sense of the word. Dutch is a dedicated and passionate "old school" political player here, and has been exceedingly welcoming and generous in helping us feel a part of the local Democratic scene. Even while she originally supported Hillary Clinton for President, she helped us feel that the Democratic Party is a big tent, with room for us all, and she became passionate about Barack Obama when he clearly had the nomination. We are exceedingly grateful to Dutch and look forward to a long relationship with her and her wonderful family.
